A Boy Reads YM
By Steve Rydman

He's in it for the tips.
To learn how to give his mouth some lip service
to exfoliate with special buffing beads.
To be a beach chick purrfectly nice
with a touch of trés jolie in a French Kitty outfit.
To buff up his bare midriff, unhide it with a cropped denim topper
that shows how less can be much, much more.
Or maybe become an earthy girl
feet firmly on the ground
the one all the girls turn to
when they have boy trouble.
After all, the boy has boys on the brain
BIG TIME!
He wants spray-on perfect legs in an instant.
He wants embarrassing facial hair to disappear in just minutes.
He wants a little blush on his cheekbones
to make him look healthy and well rested.
He wants smooth talking hair.
He's a cover girl.
He'll sing, dance, act, learn to connect a nice roundhouse kick
to a nasty bad guy's jaw.
He'll even perfect an eyelining technique that really puts
those starlet superpowers to the test.
He will deny himself ice cream, pizza, even bread for years
all in the name of thinner thighs and a flatter tummy.
He'll get a boyfriend like Rae's Marcus
who serenades her with his R. Kelly voice
and only hits her when she can't make his b-ball games.
He'll be a good girl
with a sly smile on glittery lips,
a big red sucker in his mouth
and a baby tee printed with his new motto:
Good Girls are Bad Girls that Don't Get Caught.
