Hannah Plays with Light By Kristine Ong Muslim while waiting for her husband. Will he be late again? Perhaps, this time it will be different, and there will be no need to leave the porch light on for him. Every ten minutes, she looks out of the window, checks the side street he usually takes, draws the blinds for a sliver of light like that seen from the gap in the lid of a coffin. And every ten minutes, she whisks the curtains back. The light is flicked back outside where it belongs. |
